Is Your Nonprofit Ready for the New Form 990? You Need to Be Preparing Now!
10/16/2008 8:30 AM-9:30 AM
1763 Fountain Drive, Reston
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has completely redesigned Form 990, the information return filed by public charities and other tax-exempt organizations. The final instructions to the Form 990 were just released (on August 19, 2008). The IRS redesigned this information return to increase organization transparency and accountability. As guest speaker, Nancy Murphy of Grant Thornton, LLP illuminates for attendees, the Form 990 includes annual financial statement information, discloses transactions with insiders and related entities, and describes your accomplishments, programs, and activities. And don’t forget - your organization's Form 990 is also open to the public for inspection.
Don’t wait - start getting your organization ready now. Highlights of the new core form, specific supporting schedules, and instructions will be presented at the October program, as well as tips on how your organization can prepare for the increased disclosures required by the redesigned Form 990.
