- Committee Mission
- Government Contracting will provide Federal Government Contracting insight and opportunity to all Greater Reston Chamber member businesses.
- Objective
- Government Contracting will develop programming that will educate and provide valuable information.
- To add value to Greater Reston Chamber members those either are currently, or are considering Federal Government Contracting efforts.
- Goals
- Build an effective committee.
- Develop program plans for 2008 and beyond.
- Target appropriate audience participation.
- Sell out events.
- Build on success stories.
- Help members grow their Federal business.
Forum Composition
The Government Contracting Task Force (GCTF) will meet every two months to review activities.

Subcommittees will meet according to the schedule set by the Chair:
- Prime Outreach Committee
Linda Drake (linda-drake@fxtran.com)
Purpose: Target large government contractors within the area to engage or partner with them for a team outreach approach - to help build relationships with subcontractors and create teaming opportunities.
- Federal Agency Panel Committee
David Dastvar (hd@theinnovestgroup.com or 703.250.0399.)
Purpose: Identify topics of discussion and arrange a panel of federal executives to benefit interested current and prospective Chamber members.
- Workshop Committee
Joey Musmar (joeym@millermusmar.com)
Purpose: Arrange a 3 to 4 educational workshop series.
- Open Networking Committee
Deepak Kakar (DKAKAR@mtb.com)
Purpose: Schedule evening networking event(s) where primes, subs committee members, and Chamber members can mingle/network in a casual setting.
- Communication Committee
Qiang Lu (info@te-usa.net)
Purpose: Create and manage government contracting Blog for Chamber members. Manage tools for information exchange amongst members.
- Government Contract Forum
Two Chair slots open
March 2009 planning begins in August/September timeframe.
Membership is open to all Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce members.
Members must attend a minimum of 3 meetings and participate in 2 events per calendar year.
