Purpose


The Systems Integration Forum is a committee of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the group is to cultivate collaboration and provide support for the various sectors of the Washington Metropolitan area information and communication technology (ICT) community.

Goals


The SI Forum provides an active focal point within the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce for enhancing outreach to the Washington Metropolitan area ICT community by encouraging the exchange of ideas and by supporting ICT-related activities and events. The Forum will:

  • Sponsor and promote discussion among Forum members,
  • Establish interactive forums in support of the systems integration sector,
  • Support the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and its membership by arranging for the systems integration related technical programs,
  • Sponsor projects to promote membership and support within the Washington Metropolitan area business community,
  • Provide seminars, technical networking, and program development.

Forum Composition


The Forum will have no less than 10 and no more than 50 members, consisting of representatives of industry, academia and government. Industry members, to the extent possible, should be drawn from a cross-section of large, medium, small and start-up businesses that can offer leadership and expertise in the areas of systems integration.  Participation in the Forum is by invitation only.

All members will serve without compensation.

Membership Criteria


Suitability for membership will be based on four criteria:

1.    Relevant experience within the systems integration community,
2.    Availability to participate in the activities of the Forum
3.    Interest in forwarding the goals of the Forum,
4.    Either be a member of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce or join the                              Chamber within three months of joining the Forum


Forum Chairman


The President of the Reston Chamber of Commerce will appoint the Chairman of the Forum. The Chairman will direct the Forum’s activities, meetings, and represent the Forum within the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. The Chairman will serve for a term of two years and may be re-appointed once. The Chairman, with the concurrence of a majority of the Forum, will appoint a Vice Chairman, and, as required to implement projects or activities, subcommittees and subcommittee chairmen.

Attendance Requirements


Regular attendance at monthly Forum meetings is expected. The Chairman or his/her designated representative will contact industry members who have missed three consecutive meetings to ascertain their interest in remaining on the Forum. At the discretion of the Chairman and President in concurrence, a member missing five total meetings in any one year may be removed from the Forum roster.


Forum Meetings


The Forum will meet on a regular monthly basis or at the call of the Chairman or President.
