“Daily Parking Garage 2” opens at Dulles, adding 3,700 parking spaces

Passenger Walkway opens at Dulles to connect the Main Terminal to Concourse B via underground moving sidewalks.

Airport acquires an additional 830 acres for future expansion
East Z-gates open, adding the first set of permanent airline gates to the Main Terminal

Future Development:
2009
The AeroTrain is expected to open in late 2009. The underground system will replace most of the current Mobile Lounge system that is used to transport passengers between the Main Terminal and the Midfield Concourses.
2016
Construction of Phase 2 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, which will bring passenger rail service to the Airport, is expected to open to the public.
