Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water! It is important to drink half of your body weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 175 pounds, make it your goal to drink about 88 ounces each day.
Eat the right foods. Make your plate full of colorful vegetables (about 70%) and the rest lean protein – such as chicken breast, grass-fed beef, lamb, bison, and fish (about 30%). Other important foods to consume include those high in Omega-3 fatty acids (nuts, avocados, coconut oil) while avoiding fast food, breaded and deep-fried foods, dairy, gluten, and sugar.
Get up and get moving! Exercising for 30 – 45 minutes about five times per day does wonders for the body. It increases blood flow to your brain, burns calories, and releases the feel-good hormone, endorphins!
Create a sleep habit. Sleeping for 7.5 hours each night, which consists of five 90-minute REM cycles, is the recommended time for adults to sleep. Can’t get to sleep at night? Be sure to sleep in a cool, dark room; go to bed at the same time every single night – same goes for waking up in the mornings; avoid electronics for at least one hour before bedtime and avoid stimulating activities, such as exercising and reading prior to bed.
Reduce your stress. Practice deep belly breathing, meditation, and mindfulness during periods of high stress. This can also be a part of your everyday routine, to make it a habit.
Practice the “Power of Positivity.” It has been documented that “a marriage with 5x more positive comments than negative ones is significantly less likely to result in divorce. A business team with 5x more positive comments than negative is significantly more likely to make money. In general – when a human system contains 3 to 5x as much positivity as negativity, it is significantly more likely to thrive.”
