VA Secretary of Health and Human Resources Joins Leaders from U.S. Small Business Association and U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Means for Businesses of All Sizes
November 1, 2012, (Reston, VA) – In the wake of Supreme Court's decision on the Affordable Care Act, small, medium and large businesses remain perplexed by health reform's complexity and the partisan rhetoric. Nearly 1,000 pages long, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act defines new responsibility for businesses, which have played a key role in the U.S. health care system. Add in a Presidential election that could change the dynamics, and looming decisions that Virginia has yet to make on the Health Benefits Exchange and the Medicaid expansion, and it is easy to understand why clarification is needed to understand what the impacts will be for businesses of all sizes. Alison Starling of ABC7-WJLA-TV will moderate the panel discussion, Health Care Reform: What Is Next and How It Will Impact Your Business, presented by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Reston Hospital Center and Dominion.
The full panel will include:
• Moderator Scott Thuman, Senior Political Reporter, ABC7-WJLA-TV News;
• The Honorable William A. Hazel, Jr., MD, Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources;
• Bridget Bean, Acting Administrator, U.S. Small Business Association; and
• Joanne Corte Grossi, MIPP, Regional Director for Region III – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
