Reston Comp Plan Task Force - Initial Public Outreach Session Announced

Reston, VA - The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce will collaborate with the office of Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn to offer an initial public outreach in presenting the interim recommendations of the Reston Comprehensive Plan Task Force.  This event is scheduled for Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM via WebEx.  A recording of this presentation will be made available for on-demand viewing through Supervisor Alcorn's YouTube channel.

The Reston Comprehensive Plan Task Force, primarily comprised of community resident along with select business representatives, was convened in May 2020.  This group reviewed all elements of Reston's existing comprehensive plan.  Interim recommendations for changes to the current plan were drafted by members of the task force.  These recommendations impact a wide variety of community matters including land use, transportation, community health, economic development, and affordable housing.  Public feedback on these recommendations is being requested while County staff members provide revisions to these recommendations.  Final recommendations will be presented to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for adoption.

These public outreach sessions are an important opportunity for all members of the Reston community - residents, employers, employees, land owners, tenants, or all of the above - to share their thoughts and opinions on policies which will significantly impact the shape of Reston for decades to come.
