Our region is vibrant, growing, and remarkably diverse. Today, 50% of all children in Northern Virginia live in immigrant families, and the positive impact of these families on our region’s economy is significant.
On March 12th, we are going to be hosting our 3rd annual Shape of the Region Conference, which has become a platform for our community to discuss economic mobility, income inequality, and increased opportunity for our region.
The theme of this year’s event is The Economic Case for Inclusivity. There, we will be launching a One Region report which we commissioned in partnership with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission. Compiled by the New American Economy, the report will share economic data on the impact of recent immigrants to the region, which we predict will be substantial. Though the report and its findings will not be shared publicly until the morning of the event, we would love the opportunity to speak with you about potential media interest in the report and content of the morning’s program.
