Coffee & Contracting: Why the FAR is Important to You
NOTE: The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors has adopted a COVID-19 vaccine requirement to attend any in-person Chamber meetings or events. To read the full policy, click here.
Join us for an informal networking breakfast with a short educational program for government contractors.
The Federal Government spends over $584 Billion a year buying goods and services from government contractors. The FAR ensures that the government procurement process is fair, efficient, and in the best interest of taxpayers. Contractors who provide goods and services to the Federal government are held to the highest level of transparency and openness and can be prosecuted if they fail to follow the law.
The Government Ethics and Conduct Presentation will cover the following:- Why is the FAR Important to You?
- What Happens if We Do Not Comply with the FAR?
- Government Contracting Rules, Regulations, and Procedures
- Solicitation and Acceptance of Gratuities
- Disclosure and Protection of Proposal Information
- What You Need to Know About Kickbacks
