• 2021 Fairfax County Valor Awards Winners Announcement

Reston, VA - Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) is proud to be the new official host of the 43rd Annual Fairfax County Valor Awards. This prestigious event celebrates and recognizes Fairfax County’s first responders in recognition of actions above and beyond the call of duty. The 2021 honorees will be recognized in two ways – through the publication of a commemorative program and video being released on June 15, 2021. The commemorative video will be aired on Channel 10 and can be viewed on the GRCC YouTube page and Valor Awards webpage the following day.

Since 1979, the Valor Awards have honored the public safety heroes from the Fairfax County Police Department, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Vienna Police Department, and Virginia State Police, and was originally started by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. GRCC President and CEO Charles Kapur stated, “The Greater Reston Chamber is proud to continue the legacy of the Valor Awards.  Recognizing our brave first responders, who would not otherwise seek such public acclaim, for their heroic and lifesaving actions, is a deeply meaningful tradition for our community.  This event allows us all to come together and offer a collective “thank you” for all they do.”

Awards will be bestowed in the following categories: Silver Medal of Honor, Bronze Medal of Honor, Certificate of Valor, and Lifesaving Award.
